Cherry blossoms in Japan projected to bloom earlier than usual in 2019
‘Sakura’ season is expected to fall earlier than expected this year 2019. While cherry blossoms peak during springtime, some time April to May onwards in the northern parts of Japan, travellers should expect an early blossom this season.
Thanks to the Japan Meteorological Corporation, we have a report on the forecast of when the flowers are projected to bloom: March 18 is stipulated as the first date for the sakura flowers to blossom in Kochi city.
The main cities of Japan are expected to see a beautiful blanket late March onwards:
Fukuoka – March 20 (flowering date) March 29 (full bloom date)
Tokyo – March 22 (flowering date) April 1 (full bloom date)
Yokohama, Kanagawa – March 27 (flowering date) April 3 (full bloom date)
Kyoto – March 25 (flowering date) April 2 (full bloom date)
Osaka – March 27 (flowering date) April 8 (full bloom date)
