Cher had a new outfit to wear to the 2019 Met Gala but changed her mind at the last minute.
The superstar made a surprise appearance at the annual fashion event back in May and even took to the stage at one point to perform some of her biggest hits for the star-studded crowd.
But while Cher had a whole look planned for the camp-themed night, she opted to stay in her favourite denim jeans, pink camisole, black jacket, and blonde wig when she arrived at the venue.
"I had another outfit to wear but at the last minute, I just thought 'F**k it. I don't want to wear anything," she said in a video for Vogue.com's Life in Looks series. "So, this is what I came in, except I had a big fluffy, puffy coat that my friends at Chrome Hearts made me. I've had these jeans forever; they are patched over patches. And so, I love them. They're not particularly attractive but I don't really care."
However, Cher went for style over comfort when she attended her first Met Gala back in 1974. The Believe hitmaker selected a nude Bob Mackie dress with silver sequins and white feather trim for the bash, with the provocative look certainly courting plenty of attention at the time.
"If you look at it, it looks like it's stuck to me, and that's because it is," the 73-year-old recalled. "I think it was shocking for a lot of people because it was souffle, the dress was souffle, which was a material that was outlawed in America, you could only get it in France. Marlene Dietrich had her beaded dresses made out of it. And so, when you put it on, Bob sprayed it on with a little hand sprayer, and it just sticks to your skin, so it looks like your skin is beaded. I think people were a little taken aback."
