Cher, Peter Frampton Lead Music Stars in Mourning Gregg Allman’s Death

Condolences from the music world are flooding in as word of Gregg Allman’s death spreads.

“I’ve tried… words are impossible GUI GUI,” the music pioneer’s former wife, Cher, tweeted, along with an emoji of a broken heart.

The Nashville-born rocker died on Saturday at age 69, according to a statement on his website. Allman “passed away peacefully at his home in Savannah, Georgia,” according to the site. The organist and singer for The Allman Brothers helped create the Southern Rock genre.

Allman’s band mates broke the news on Twitter:

Fellow music legend Peter Frampton tweeted, “So sad to hear Gregg Allman passed away I admire him so much & had the honour of jamming with him recently. A gentle soul with so much soul.”

“My heart breaks today at the passing of soul brutha Gregg Allman. Blessings and peace to all the Allman family,” Keith Urban wrote.
