Renowned celebrity make-up artist, Charlotte Tilbury, is a master creator of cult products.

Since launching her eponymous brand in 2013, Tilbury’s Pillow Talk lipstick has remained a go-to nude lippie for woman around the world.

Meanwhile, the brand’s Magic Cream sells one every two minutes.

Tilbury also continues to be the expert behind numerous celebrities’ youthful appearances, using her sought-after products on the likes of Celine Dion, Salma Hayek, Cindy Crawford, Renee Zellweger, Jennifer Aniston, Maria Carey and many more.

Therefore, it’s no surprise that Tilbury’s latest launch, the brand’s first serum, was one exciting drop.

What does the serum do?

Charlotte’s Magic Serum Crystal Elixir helps target the signs of ageing, boasting a clinically-proven formula that’s designed to leave a youthful, firmer and brighter complexion.

And yes, it has been put to the test.

Over 200 women and men aged 18 to 80 tested the product in a consumer study for four weeks. 93% agreed their skin looked younger after using the product, as well as their pores tighter and fine lines and wrinkles appearing reduced.

Meanwhile, a clinical study found that 34% of participants saw a visual reduction in the appearance of wrinkles in eight weeks.

How does it work?

Tilbury collaborated with expert scientists and globally-renowned facialists to create the supercharged, crystal-infused formula made up of eight innovative ingredients.

To combat the signs of ageing it includes a breakthrough peptide blend called Replexium, which has a laser-focus when it comes to wrinkle targeting.

It also includes Golden Vitamin C, the next-generation of the popular skincare ingredient that helps to brighten the skin.

In order to give the serum the hydration it needs, it also includes Polyglutamic Acid, which is four times more moisturising than Hyaluronic Acid.

And, let’s not forget about the crystals.

Inspired by holistic wellbeing the serum is infused with a crystal complex of moonstone, ruby, rose quartz, crystal quartz and amethyst.

The crystals are traditionally known to bring calm and love, as well as being uplifting and empowering.

How to apply

Tilbury suggests massaging four to six drops onto clean skin morning and night.

Put a few drop into the palm of your hand before massaging it into the skin until it absorbs.

For added moisture, Tilbury suggests you use Charlotte’s Magic Cream after to help seal in the serum.

What to expect

Firstly, as someone who doesn’t like to spend a lot of time using multiple lotions and potions, I very much appreciate Tilbury creating a serum designed to be a simple, targeted solution.

True to Tilbury form, the serum comes in a rather hefty glass bottle that boasts the brand’s signature rose gold design, giving it a luxurious appearance from the get-go.

It’s a very light serum, so a little goes a long way.

Although at £60 for a 30ml bottle may sound pricey, three drops was more than enough for one application, so the product will last you a good few months.

At first, I wasn’t sure about the runny and slightly silky consistency, setting myself up for the fact that it was just going to end up being another oily serum nightmare.

But, it absorbed easily into my skin leaving behind the promised, subtle, dewy glow.

The serum itself has a light, floral-like scent, but it’s thankfully not over-powering.

As for my complexion? My skin did feel immediately tighter, and after checking my reflection 10 minutes later, my most prominent frown lines on my forehead had been plumped and noticeably reduced.

A trait that only one other (more expensive) beauty product in my cabinet can manage.

It’s also seriously hydrating, something I wasn’t really expecting. Given its lightweight consistency I have no idea how it manages to provide so much moisture in a way that isn’t shiny or oily, so I’m definitely pleasantly surprised.

Although I’ve only used it for a matter of days, I am genuinely excited to see the difference in the weeks to come.

The healthy, natural glow along with the peace of mind that I won’t have deep lines on my forehead by the end of the day means I will definitely add it to my premature Christmas list.
