Pop singer Charli XCX will be in town to perform at the annual Asian Television Awards (ATA) in December.

The UK star behind the catchy hit “Fancy”, which features Australian rapper Iggy Azalea, will perform for the first time at the ATA, which will take place on 2 December at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre.

The ATA show marks the return of the 24-year-old singer and songwriter to Singapore after her concert at Hard Rock Hotel’s The Coliseum in April last year.

Charli XCX, whose real name is Charlotte Emma Aitchison, was first discovered on the once-popular music and social platform MySpace when she was only 14 years old.

Having released two studio albums Sucker (2013) and True Romance (2014), Charli XCX is set to unveil her third this year. She is already enticing her fans, whom she calls Angels, with her latest track “Vroom Vroom”, which will be in the new album.

Also making a debut performance at the ATA is local Mandopop star JJ Lin, who won an award for Best Male Mandarin Singer and Best Composer at the Golden Melody Awards in June.

The ATA will be hosted by television personalities Adrian Pang and Stephanie Carrington.
