Charlene Choi: Give Gillian Chung some space
24 Oct – Hong Kong singer-actress Charlene Choi admitted that she feels sorry for Gillian Chung, whose new romance with Taiwanese doctor Michael Lai is being scrutinised by the media and fans alike.
As reported on Mingpao, the singer, who appeared at the launch of a brand store recently, urged the media to give the two of them some space, following recent reports about Michael's supposed involvement with another woman – one that he has since denied.
"You don't always have to write about them. Give them some space. Let them develop their relationship happily," she said.
When asked if she is glad that her own love life with the mahjong prince Anthony Shi didn't get as much attention as Gillian's is, Charlene said that aside from her work, she would rather not have people talking so much about her personal life.
"I don't really care about it all. I am not concerned about how other people see me. The most important thing to me is I know what's real and what's not. You have to be happy with what you have. You don't need to share this kind of things with others," she said.
