Chapman To buys 20,000 face masks for medical workers

12 Feb – Chapman To revealed that he has purchased ten boxes of medical-grade face masks to be distributed to family members and medical workers in Hong Kong.

As reported on Mingpao, the actor who has been very critical of the Hong Kong government's action since the beginning of the outbreak of the Coronavirus, revealed that his goal is to buy a million face masks, although he has only been successful in getting 20,000 for now.

Chapman stated that following the first batch, he intends to donate the second batch to the elderly and the chronically ill patients, and that he will be contacting social welfare agencies for assistance.

"Everybody can do it. I can do it, so everybody could. Let's save Hong Kong ourselves!" he added.

According to Epoch Times, in an interview with the media Chapman said that he was inspired to donate face masks due to something that was said by an old friend who works in a hospital.

"The friend said that public hospitals actually asked them to buy their own masks for work. I thought I misheard it. If that's the case, why didn't the government just ask the police to buy their own guns for work? These are the things needed to protect their lives. But of course, everybody has to take care of their own lives rather than depend on their government!" he said.
