The pandemic has ensured that we consume fashion in a different way these days – from heels falling out of favour, to the rise of comfy clothes.

However, designer brand Chanel is seeking to stay relevant with the launch of a new podcast.

The French label’s Chanel Connects show will focus on all things culture and is set to feature a starry celebrity line-up.

Guests, who all recorded remotely, include actresses Keira Knightley and Tilda Swinton, as well as singer Pharrell Williams and Edward Enniful, the editor-in-chief of Vogue.

The series will cover a wide range of topics, including film, art, architecture, dance and music – as well as, of course, fashion.

It will also discuss the continuing challenges of the pandemic for the arts, and what the future holds.

Yana Peel, global head of arts and culture at the brand, said: “While galleries, stages and studios have been dark, artists have not stopped creating and imagining new ways forward.

“Chanel Connects sees cultural game-changers delve deep into their imaginations to share ideas across disciplines, projects and institutions.

“As well as fascinating insight into the minds of today’s most creative innovators, it’s a prescient reminder to continue supporting the arts, championing what’s next and celebrating work that has the power to transform lives and wider society.”

The programme joins another Channel podcast, 3.55, which launched in 2017 and takes listeners behind-the-scenes of the iconic brand.

There are already seven episodes of Chanel Connects available to listen to on Spotify, Apple and Chanel.com.

It comes after another recent podcast launch made headlines around the world.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle teamed up with Spotify in a deal purported to be worth millions.

Their first episode of Archewell Audio went live on New Year’s Eve – and royal fans heard the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s one-year-old son Archie speak for the first time.

The couple were joined by Sir Elton John, James Corden and a host of other famous friends in a festive special.

Opening the show, the duke told listeners: “We’re glad you’re here. As we all know, it’s been a year. And we really want to honour the compassion and kindness that has helped so many people get through it.”

The duchess added: “And at the same time, to honour those who have experienced uncertainty and unthinkable loss. Our thoughts have been with you, especially during this holiday season.”
