Cecilia Cheung donates blood for bus crash victims

22 Feb – Hong Kong actress Cecilia Cheung recently called for fellow citizens to donate blood for the victims of the Hong Kong bus crash by doing so herself.

As reported on Mingpao, on 12 February the actress was spotted at one of the blood donation centres in Sha Tin, hiding her face behind a red cap as she waited in line for hours to complete the entire blood donation process.

Cecilia then took to social media to share photos from the location, and welcomed fans to do the same for the victims.

"The whole process took four hours, but I am so happy to be able to do it. At first, they thought that I was too thin. But then [the nurse found out] that I am in good health to do it," she posted.

The actress also assured that donating blood does not hurt at all, and said that anybody can do it as long as they are healthy.

19 people were killed while 65 others injured in a crash involving a Kowloon Motor Bus (KMB) double-decker bus, when it flipped onto its side on Tai Po Road on 10 February.
