13 Aug – Catriona Gray is excited to be a part of the judging panel at the Miss South Africa 2019 pageant.

As reported on PEP, the Miss Universe 2018 is joining past winner Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters and other celebrities including actress Connie Ferguson and activist Thando Hopa in finding the next representative of South Africa to the international pageant.

She is also joined by Tamaryn Green, who was Gray's first runner-up in Miss Universe 2018.

"Having been through the pageant system by competing nationally, earning the right to represent my country at Miss Universe and then going on to win the title, I feel that I have first-hand experience of what's required of a candidate to compete on a national and international level, as well as understanding what the role and platform represents," said Gray about her judging stint.

As for what she would look in a winner, she said, "Authenticity, confidence and purpose. [I want] to find the woman who will continue South Africa's amazing success in the Miss Universe pageant."

The Miss South Africa 2019 is set to be held on 9 August.
