Catriona Gray to have her own Madame Tussauds wax figure

6 Jan – After Pia Wurtzbach, Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray is the next beauty queen who will be getting her own Madame Tussauds wax figure soon.

The wax museum announced the good news on 6 January, saying, that the wax figure will be wearing Gray's iconic red gown designed by Mak Tumang, which she wore at the Miss Universe 2018 pageant.

The dress, known as the "lava gown", took inspiration from the Mayon Volcano, and attracted audiences' attention during the competition when coupled with Gray's now popular strut that has been named the lava walk.

The wax figure of the 26-year-old Fil-Australian beauty will be exhibited first at Madame Tussauds Singapore in 2020 before being moved to Bangkok and Hong Kong.

Said Madame Tussauds Asia Regional Manager Susan Ang, "We believe that by having Catriona's wax figure, it will definitely be a huge draw and create the platform for her fans to get up-close with her in 2020."

Gray also shared the good news on Instagram with a photo of her holding a fake eyeball, writing, "I am so excited to see the final figure and be a part of this special event! To unveil the figure in my home country with my fans watching is another dream come true."
