We Can't Stop Listening to Carrie Underwood's Christmas Duet With Her Son

From Country Living

Is there anything Carrie Underwood can't do? This year the singer, author, and sometimes beekeeper is also kicking off Christmas three months early with her first-ever, full-length holiday album, My Gift.

“I’ve always wanted to make a Christmas album and it’s been a long time coming,” Underwood revealed on her website. After wrapping up her Cry Pretty Tour 360 performances last year, the singer says it was the perfect time for her to focus on making it.

"For me, it’s more important than ever to focus on the true meaning of Christmas in a project like this. Even though it has been a tough year for all of us, sometimes I feel like the greatest realizations can be inspired by the most difficult times, and make us more grateful for the things we do have and for what truly matters."

The album includes a mix of traditional holiday classics (including a version of "Little Drummer Boy" featuring Underwood's son Isaiah) as well as original songs. The singer shared the track list with fans via Instagram:

We're sure My Gift is bound to get listeners into the holiday spirit. Just look how excited these fans are!

Beginning December 19 at 8p.m., the Empire State Building will have a synced light performance to Carrie Underwood's "Hallelujah," a duet with John Legend from the new album. If you're not in New York City to watch, you can see it live via Earthcam, or immediately following the first performance via the Empire State Building's Youtube channel. The light show will continue each night until Christmas Day.

This holiday season, HBO Max will also stream a Christmas special with Carrie performing songs from her My Gift album.

Of course, this isn't Carrie's first time performing Christmas classics—for example, she performed a memorable version of "Last Christmas" 14 years ago as part of TNT's Christmas in Washington event—but it does mark her first official full-length holiday project. And her fans aren't the only ones who are especially excited for this new holiday adventure of hers. We can't wait to hear it!
