Fashion designer Carly Cushnie is pregnant with her second child.
The womenswear designer, who acts as chief executive officer and creative director of her brand Cushnie, revealed she was preparing to become a mother-of-two by posting a snap on Instagram on Sunday evening which showed her holding her baby daughter Santi, whose leg rested on her growing bump.
In the caption, Cushnie acknowledged that her second pregnancy comes just months after she gave birth to Santi in April.
"Sometimes the very best gifts in life are surprises," she wrote. "Motherhood has been the most magical journey with our little Santi bug and I can't believe she's gonna be a big sister so soon. Any mothers of twins, Irish twins or babies very close together please drop your advice below! (shocked emoji) #motherhood #pregnancy."
When model Sharina Gutierrez congratulated her for expecting twins in the comments, Cushnie clarified that she was only expecting one child but the newborn and Santi will be Irish twins, a slang term used to describe siblings born less than a year apart.
"Irish twins... as in Santi and her lil sis on the way will be very close together!! Let the chaos begin!!" she replied.
Cushnie, who did not give a due date, married husband Oscar Cantu in Mexico City in February 2017.
The designer took over the running of the fashion label, formerly known as Cushnie et Ochs, at the beginning of 2018, after her co-founder Michelle Ochs announced her departure. She returned from maternity leave to launch the brand's spring/summer 2020 ready-to-wear collection online in September.
