Carina Zhang denies copying Raymond Lam's ex-girlfriend
27 May – Carina Zhang has recently dismissed the notion that she is just a substitute for Raymond Lam's former girlfriend Karena Ng.
As reported on Skypost, the mainland model and wife of the said actor recently went on Instagram to respond to questions from netizens but found herself being attacked by several haters who questioned her intentions in marrying the Hong Kong star.
When one netizen accused her of copying Karena in everything the Hong Kong actress does, Carina responded, "I don't pay attention to anybody or anything that I am not interested in. Can someone's fans please be more respectable? I'm sure your idol wants to live their own life."
To another who said that the similarities in their name was a clear indication that she was nothing more than a replacement, Carina said that it was nothing more than just a coincidence.
"I won't change my name just because of this. Stop living in a fantasy," she said.
She then added that people - the public and media alike - should stop dragging other people when writing about her and her husband, as the two of them just want to live their lives and do their jobs well.
Raymond Lam dated actress Karena Ng for five years before the couple finally confirmed their breakup in early 2018. He began seeing Carina soon after, and married the model in 2019.
