Camila Cabello: ‘I don’t want to look perfect all the time’

Camila Cabello dislikes the way celebrities are expected to look perfect every time they leave the house.

The Havana singer is frequently snapped by paparazzi while out and about - particularly now she’s rumoured to be a relationship with fellow popstar Shawn Mendes - but she doesn’t want to let the presence of the cameras put pressure on her to look polished every time she’s in public.

“Because I’ve been doing this for such a long time, I forget that I am quote-unquote famous or that people are looking at me,” she said to Variety. “It makes me insanely uncomfortable to see pictures of me that I didn’t know were taken. I honestly hate it. I don’t want to live like a celebrity and have to look perfect every time I step out of my house.”

Even though she knows she might be photographed, the 22-year-old ignores the possibility of paparazzi and goes out without any make-up on.

“I ignore it (the paparazzi) as much as possible. If I’m going to look like s**t that day and cameras are in my face, I don’t care because I choose being human and normal,” the star continued.

The Senorita hitmaker is a champion of body positivity and recently put out a message to her young fans to assure them it’s normal to have some fat or cellulite.

"They're (young fans) constantly seeing Photoshopped, edited pictures and thinking that's reality and everyone's eyes get used to seeing airbrushed skin, and suddenly they think THAT'S the norm?!!! It isn't. It's fake. AND FAKE IS BECOMING THE NEW REAL,” she wrote on Instagram.

"We have a completely unrealistic view of a woman's body. Girls, cellulite is normal. Fat is normal. It's beautiful and natural.”
