Prepare for further strange happenings at the Circle K, because cameras are now officially rolling on Bill & Ted 3, aka Bill & Ted Face The Music.

Confirmation has come via the long-awaited movie's official Twitter feed (and by the movie's co-writer Ed Solomon), and has been met with much excitement.

It's also been met with much depilation.

Yesterday it emerged that Keanu Reeves has shaved his beard off, and considering Bill & Ted 3 is his next project, it looks like we're getting a freshly shorn Ted Theodore Logan.

So it's happening, after years of sequel talk, the pair of spaced out slackers will be back for the first time since 1991's Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey.

There will be some recognisable faces, in the form of William Sadler, who will reprise his role of Death, and Hal Langdon Jr, who will play Ted's dad, Police Captain Jonathan Logan.

But there is a host of new stars too.

Brigette Lundy-Paine and Samara Weaving will play Bill and Ted's daughters Billie Logan and Thea Preston, while Jayma Mays and Erinn Hayes will play Bill and Ted's wives, Princess Joanna Preston and Princess Elizabeth Logan.

Meanwhile, Anthony Carrigan, who's proved a hit as NoHo Hank in the HBO series Barry, will reportedly play the movie's villain (and as some have noted, could he possibly be playing the son of Death?).

Rapper Kid Cudi is involved too, in a so-far unannounced role, while long-time Saturday Night Live comedian Beck Bennett is playing Ted's brother Deacon.

Penned by Ed Solomon and Chris Matheson, who wrote the original movies, it will find Bill & Ted still struggling to pen that song that will save the universe.

It's due for release in August, 2020.
