Need a cab? Try hailing an A-wing instead!
Another week, another series of train breakdowns. Luckily, with ride-hailing services like Grab, there’s at least another alternative for you to try and get home during rush hour.
And with the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi nearing, Grab has now partnered with Disney Southeast Asia for an exciting series of promotions.
According to their press release, Grab’s campaign hopes to provide “a priceless, immersive and rewarding experience” for all Grab users. With every ride they book on the app, users can earn points and redeem exclusive Last Jedi premiums like tickets to a private screening of the movie. The grand prize? An all-inclusive trip for 2 to Rancho Obi-Wan (aka The Holy Land for Star Wars fans) in San Francisco, California!
Grab is offering users to choose to side with the Resistance or the First Order, and depending on the side you choose, the usual Grab cars will appear as either A-wings or TIE Silencers. I tried it out for myself and I gotta admit, it’s damn fun. Look at those adorable A-wings waiting to pick people up!
Once you’ve chosen a side, you can also take part in the weekly battle challenges where the winning side gets the chance to win prizes like a Sphero Droid (BB-8 or BB-9E, depending on which side you choose) and a special Lego set.
The promo will run from now until mid-December, ending just in time for the release of The Last Jedi in cinemas. Everything will culminate in a final battle event with Star Wars-themed challenges, with more details to be announced at a later date.
