Buzzfeed heads to Ghim Moh Market and Food Centre for breakfast in Singapore
Buzzfeed made a surprise visit to Singapore to try our delicious array of breakfast foods. But instead of picking top tourist spots such as Maxwell Food Centre, they’ve gone off the beaten path to Ghim Moh Market & Food Centre.
From Chinese to Indian and Malay foods, video producer/host Steven Lim and two others had a “buffet” breakfast consisting of chee cheong fun, carrot cake, appam and thosai, among others. For drinks, local YouTuber Ryan Tan from Night Owl Cinematics recommended iced green apple mixed with Yakult.
“This is savoury jello,” said one of the hosts after tasting the chee cheong fun in the video, which was posted online on Monday (15 Jan). “It’s very satisfying to just poke.”
When it came to the appam, Lim said, “It’s almost like a crepe.”
Lim is a YouTuber turned host for the American online media company. He is also the star of online video series Worth It.
This is one of the rare videos Buzzfeed has done on Singapore, with previous posts focusing on a taste test on Singapore foods and Lim trying out Singapore Airlines’ Suites Class.
