Bulgar denies wrongdoing against Catriona Gray
7 Aug – Bulgar, the tabloid that was sued by Catriona Gray over the allegation of accusing her of taking a nude photo, has recently denied any wrongdoing on their part.
As reported on Rappler, Janice Navida, the entertainment editor of Bulgar and respondent of the complaint filed by Gray, dismissed the idea that they were damaging the beauty queen's image, stating that they were only trying to help clear her name and to notify her of a nude photo circulating online.
"That's why when we learned about your clarification on the matter, we quickly posted your camp's statement on our Facebook page and website to enlighten everybody about that controversial photo," said Navida in her statement.
She continued, "By not releasing the original photo sent to us, instead we blurred the private part because our intention is just to inform everyone that there's someone or maybe a group of people that want to destroy you."
Navida stated that she understood how Gray felt when the news came out, but stressed that Bulgar is not the enemy.
The former Miss Universe 2018 previously filed a report at the National Bureau of Investigation following the news of a fake nude photo. Her legal team then sent a demand letter to Bulgar and a few individuals related, including Navida, demanded an apology and a settlement of P10 million for spreading a fake topless photo of her.
