Britney Spears is calling out the media and paparazzi for capturing less-than-flattering photos of her.

On Monday, the 40-year-old shared photos taken during a vacation to Maui with her fiancé, Sam Asghari, to social media. In the post, Spears shows off her lavender-coloured hair while lounging in a bikini. She also included a video of herself dancing to James Brown's "I Feel Good" while wearing denim shorts and an orange crop top.

Spears included a lengthy caption, lamenting on her decision to dye her infamous blonde locks and speaking candidly about her body struggles.

"I will be honest. I think my purple hair is absolutely horrible. I wish someone would have told me," she wrote.

The "Toxic" singer revealed to fans that she's been doing her best to "fight feeling sick by doing the right thing" before addressing new paparazzi photos taken during her vacation.

"Paps still show pics of me on the balcony with fat rolls!" she wrote. "The media has always been hateful to me! I know my body is not perfect by any means but I also know I definitely don’t look like that. Guess I should stay at the gym for three hours like Sam does."

The singer's post was met with supportive messages from fans who assured the star that she looks "absolutely gorgeous."

"Don’t ever say your body isn’t perfect! It is!" one Instagram user commented."

"Queen, your body is beautiful!" another wrote. "Nobody in this world is perfect so don’t worry! We love you."

"Girl, your body is amazing!" a follower echoed. "It’s real! It has curves and gave birth to two wonderful children. Women shouldn’t feel so bad about their bodies. I hate the pressure the media puts on you and women in society."

"The paparazzi literally get off on trying to take the worst most unflattering photos of people imaginable," a fan wrote. "So glad you're able to see beyond their tactics and love yourself the way you are. You're in amazing shape, and so beautiful! Never change — but even if you do you'll still be gorgeous."

This isn't the first time that Spears has shed some light on body positivity and being comfortable in her own skin.

In August 2021, the singer shared her thoughts on "shedding a layer" of clothing in a now deleted post.

"I bet you're wondering why I'd expose my body now," she wrote. "Well, it's because I was born into this world naked and I honestly feel like the weight of the [world] has been on my shoulders and it's made me view myself that way!

"I wanted to see myself in a lighter way. Naked. like the way I was born, and to me, looking back at my pictures when I shoot it's insane the psychology in seeing myself in my purest form gives evidence that pain, hurt, tears, and heavy burdens aren't who I am," she continued. "I am a woman. A beautiful, sensitive woman who needs to look at me in my purest form!"
