Britney Spears has responded to claims made by ex husband Kevin Federline – who she was married to between 2004 and 2007 – that their sons no longer see her.

To recap, in a recent interview with ITV Kevin a broke his decade-long silence on his relationship with Britney, her conservatorship and how the pair co-parent their two sons, 16-year-old Sean Preston and 15-year-old Jayden.

As well as commenting on how Britney's life was impacted by the 13-year conservatorship she was recently freed from, Kevin alleged that the singer's behaviour on social media since being released from the conservatorship has caused family tensions.

"The boys have decided they are not seeing her right now," Kevin told ITV (via Daily Mail). "It's been a few months since they've seen her," he added, also claiming that Britney's two sons were absent from her wedding to Sam Asghari, which took place in June.

"I try to explain to them, 'Look, maybe that's just another way she tries to express herself.' But that doesn't take away from the fact of what it does to them. It's tough," Kevin went on, referencing the nude photos the singer has posted to Instagram in recent months.

But Britney didn't agree with what Kevin had to say, taking to social media to call out the claims made by her ex. "It saddens me to hear that my ex husband has decided to discuss the relationship between me and my children," she said in a lengthy post on her Instagram Story.

"As we all know, raising teenage boys is never easy for anyone," she added.

The 40-year-old went on: "Reminder that the trauma and insults that come with fame and this business not only affect me but my children as well!!!! I’m only human and I’ve done my best… I honestly would like to share my two cents!!!!"

"It concerns me the fact that the reason is based on my Instagram, it was long before Instagram," she said in response to Kevin's reference of her online photos. "I daringly would like for the Federlines to watch the Big Booty video!!! Other artists have made much worse when their children were extremely young!!!!!"

In support of his wife, Sam also took to social media to dampen Kevin's claims. "There is no validity to his statement regarding the kids distancing themselves and it is irresponsible to make that statement publicly," Sam told his Instagram followers.

"The boys are very smart and will be 18 soon to make their own decisions and may eventually realise the 'tough' part was having a father who hasn’t worked much in over 15 years as a role model," he added. "Kevin’s gravy train will end soon [which] probably explains the timing of these hurtful statements."
