Brie Larson gained red carpet confidence thanks to stylist

Brie Larson gained more confidence on the red carpet after working with her stylist Samantha McMillen.

The Captain Marvel star reflected on working with the fashion visionary as part of The Hollywood Reporter's Top 10 Power Stylists of the Decade feature, and revealed she feels more confident and "empowered" posing at events thanks to Samantha's work.

"Sam is very intuitive," Brie explained. "She listens to what’s important to you creatively, aesthetically, value-wise, and then seamlessly translates it into your wardrobe. I still feel like me, even when I’m in a designer gown and heels."

The duo have worked together to support female designers, with the Oscar-winning actress wearing gowns from female-led fashion houses, such as Rodarte and Chloe, to film premieres and red carpet events.

"I feel proud to wear their designs on my body. I’m never going to feel 100 per cent comfortable with photographers shouting my name and posing, so it takes the pressure off when you reframe that moment to be about empowering other people’s work," she added.

And Samantha, who also styles the likes of Elle Fanning, Chris Hemsworth, and Daisy Ridley, showcased her talents when she chose the jaw-dropping custom lilac Celine dress Brie wore to the premiere of Avengers: Endgame last year. She accessorised the look with Irene Neuwirth bracelets and rings that were designed to look like movie's Infinity Gauntlet.

"Brie’s Avengers: Endgame premiere gown was one of the most googled fashion items last year," Samantha proudly stated.
