Wedding dresses are lovely and all that, but they come with their impracticalities.

Between maneuvering long trains, avoiding red wine, and trying not to get mud on your hem comes the mother of all bridal dilemmas: using the restroom in your dress.

Big dresses require an army of bridesmaids when the bride eventually needs to go to the toilet. Hiking the thing up and making sure it doesn’t go down the toilet bowl is no one-man job.

But what if you don’t fancy sharing a toilet with five-plus women on your big day?

Well, one bride might have found the answer — and it has everything to do with a trusty blue Ikea bag.

According to a Facebook post from Djsweeby, cutting a hole in the bottom of an Ikea Frakta shopping bag (you know, those big blue ones), a bride can go to the toilet with ease.

The bride wrote: “Well, I got married a few weeks ago (in a mermaid wedding dress) and I was really worried about going to the bathroom and not being able to … handle myself.

“Someone helping or watching me going to the bathroom on my wedding day? Not being able to have free hands to use the toilet paper? Or even worse if my period decides to show? NO WAY!”

So how does it work?

Just simply pop your legs through, pull it up so the straps are over your shoulders and the bag should do the rest.

You might look ridiculous but who cares? The best part of this hack is that Frakta bags cost a measly $1.29.

Today’s takeaway? Don’t ever be too far from an Ikea bag.
