Brad Anderson Set To Direct Gary Whitta-Scripted ‘FATE’

EXCLUSIVE: Brad Anderson has been set by financier-producer Amasia Entertainment to direct FATE, an original script by Gary Whitta, the scribe who wrote The Book Of Eli and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Anderson reunites with Michael Helfant and Bradley Gallo’s Amasia after they collaborated on the Halle Berry-Abigail Breslin hit The Call. FATE is casting up now for a production start in the spring.

The setup: Virgil is a man on the edge, all too familiar with the back alleys of Hong Kong. His life, or what’s left of it, is turned upside down when he is approached by a mysterious woman seeking his help. Helfant and Gallo are producing with David Alpert for Circle of Confusion, along with Stewart Hall and Devin Cutler for American Films.

Formed as a production, finance and management company designed to generate movies and TV for an international audience, Amasia’s most recent releases include the Sam Rockwell-Anna Kendrick starrer Mr. Right and Careful What You Wish For, which starred Nick Jonas. Next up is Fear Inc and the music docu ZEDD True Colors.

Anderson is repped by UTA and LBI, Whitta by UTA and Circle of Confusion.
