The moment we've all been waiting for has finally arrived: It's officially spring! Despite some late-season snowstorms that threatened both our morale and our favorite flowers, warmer weather is on the horizon.

According to federal climate scientists, much of the U.S. will experience higher than average temperatures this spring. A large region extending from Texas across to New England is expected to have the most unusually warm weather.

Cities in the midwest, the southeastern U.S., and California should expect to confront flooding from anticipated spring rains. Forecasters from National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) warned that North Dakota and Idaho face the highest risk of floods as the snow melts.

The northern Rocky Mountain range, the northern Great Plains and the Gulf Coast are all predicted to have higher levels of precipitation than usual, according to the report.

In short, most of the U.S. should swap their snow boots for rain boots and get ready for warmer days ahead.
