Bourne Fans Not Impressed With Jason Bourne Film Title

The upcoming new ‘Bourne’ movie will be simply called: ‘Jason Bourne’.

And it looks as though fans of Matt Damon’s superspy aren’t exactly happy about that.

It’s official – Bourne is back in the upcoming ‘Jason Bourne’ and we’ve even caught a glimpse of his return in an action-packed Superbowl trailer.

But fans aren’t so keen on the movie’s title.

“You know his name,” said one unimpressed Twitter user. “But incase you have forgotten, we are making it the title of the movie, ‘Jason Bourne’.”

Of course, the Bourne franchise has already had plenty of snappy names – the original was based on Robert Ludlum’s ‘The Bourne Identity’ with subsequent sequels taking the names of the later novels.

Even the most recent offering came up with the fairly appropriate ‘The Bourne Legacy’.

But this time, it’s a simple name drop… handy if you have retrograde amnesia.

Obviously, it didn’t take long for the internet to come up with its own titles for the upcoming Bourne movie… and some of their suggestions aren’t half bad.

“I can’t believe they’re just calling the new Bourne film JASON BOURNE when BOURNE AGAIN was staring them right in the face,” said one Twitter fan. “Try harder.”

“Am I the only one that thinks 'Jason Bourne’ is a naff title?” asked one disgruntled fan. “The Bourne Resurgence? The Bourne Resurrection? #Bourne”

‘Jason Bourne’ stars Matt Damon as the titular former-CIA agent. ‘Julia Stiles’ returns as agent Nicky Parsons with Alicia Vikander and Tommy Lee Jones joining them in currently unknown roles.

‘Jason Bourne’ heads to cinemas on 28 July 2016.
