"Bond 25" gets new director and new release date

21 Sep – Last month, news of "Bond 25" losing its director Danny Boyle shook the world of Bond fans but now there's a new director in town to help save the movie.
Cary Joji Fukunaga, more widely credited as Cary Fukunaga, has stepped up to shoulder the directing duty for the upcoming 25th James Bond movie, according to Variety.
This marks the first time that an American director will be helming a movie starring the eponymous British Secret Service agent.
"We are delighted to be working with Cary," said producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson. "His versatility and innovation make him an excellent choice for our next James Bond adventure."
Apart from the director change, "Bond 25" has also received a new release date.
Originally slated to open on 8 November 2019, the movie is now delayed for about three months and will instead be releasing on Valentine's Day 2020.
Filming is scheduled to begin on 4 March 2019 at Pinewood Studios in London.

Fukunaga so far has three feature film credits to his name. He made his feature directorial debut in 2009 with "Sin Nombre" and followed it with 2011's "Jane Eyre" and 2015's "Beasts of No Nation".
He was close to helming last year's "It" but left the project in 2015 due to creative differences.
The filmmaker's work includes directing TV series, winning an Emmy for his work on the first season of "True Detective" and most recently directing, writing and producing the Emma Stone and Jonah Hill-starring "Maniac".
"Bond 25" will be his first feature film project since "Beasts of No Nation".
