When it comes to hawker fare, you can’t go wrong with an established, tried-and-tested recipe. This year, keep an eye out for household hawker names such as Rong Cheng Bak Kuh Teh, Chey Sua Carrot Cake, Lek Lim Nonya Cake Confectionery and more, who will be bringing you authentic versions of your favourite hawker dishes. Some of these recipes date back to the 1970s. These timeless classics will take you right back to the good old days of Singapore’s street hawker culture.

2.    The New Kids on the Block

Watch out for a new wave of budding hawkers who have just joined the industry. These young chefs left jobs in other sectors to pursue their culinary passions. And they’re brilliant at what they do. Fishball Story’s Douglas is one such example. He may be only 23 years old, but he sure can whip up a mean bowl of handmade fishball noodles using his grandma’s trusty recipe. Come to this year’s charity food fiesta to meet more of these fresh-faced chefs and be inspired by their devotion to our hawker scene. The love they have for their work is so strong you can taste passion in every bite.

3.    Fusion Food You Can’t Find Elsewhere

Save some space in your stomach for this one. Where else will you be able to sample an ingenious blend of caramelized foie gras and rojak? And what about sinking your teeth into a common pastry pie, and be surprised by a mouthful of stir-fried mee siam inside? Expect the unexpected with these extraordinary fusion creations, cleverly crafted by the talented hawkers and chefs featured at the event.
