Blake Lively used her children as makeshift weights during her early morning workouts sessions while filming The Rhythm Section.
The actress, who shares three daughters with husband Ryan Reynolds, discussed her unusual approach to staying in shape while training for the new action-thriller during an interview with Vanity Fair. Blake shared that she woke up at sunrise and began the day by making breakfast and hanging out with her girls before heading to set.
"On an average day on set, I probably woke up at 5am, but mostly because I was doing mama duty with my girls," she shared. "Have breakfast with them, hang out with them, work out with them. 'Cause I didn't want to wake up any earlier. I'm not Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. I had to just get some sleep.
"I would sort of use them as weights. Instead of wearing a weight vest, I got to wear my children!"
The 32-year-old would then rush to work, before getting home around 9pm to put her eldest daughters, James and Inez, to bed.
However, the Gossip Girl star confessed that after a long day filming, she usually ended up falling asleep in their bedrooms before being woken up by husband Ryan.
"My kids, they don't ever go to sleep, honestly. We gotta invent something," Blake joked. "My kids had, like, a pack-and-play - almost like a crib - and I would crawl in there and sing them to sleep, and usually I'd fall asleep in there. Almost every single night I'd fall asleep in there.
"(Ryan) would usually come in and be like, 'Hey, you're safe now. You can come to bed.'"
