Blade Runner 2 Set Collapses Killing Construction Worker

A construction worker has died on the set of ‘Blade Runner 2’.

According to Mashable, a construction worker was killed on the set of the upcoming ‘Blade Runner’ sequel while taking apart one of the sets.

“A Hungarian construction worker was killed while dismantling one of the sets for the untitled Blade Runner sequel at Budapest’s Origo Studios on Thursday,” they revealed. The news was confirmed by Alcon Entertainment.

“The victim, whose identity was not immediately revealed, was working beneath a platform on which the set was constructed when it suddenly collapsed.”

At the time of writing, the cause of the accident has not been determined, but it’s thought an investigation will be made into the incident. It remains unclear exactly how the set collapsed.

The identity of the victim has not yet been made public.

Apparently, the upcoming ‘Blade Runner’ sequel wasn’t filming at Origo Studios at the time, which is why the sets were being dismantled. At the moment, it’s unclear how the production will be affected by this tragic accident.

The upcoming ‘Blade Runner’ sequel stars Ryan Gosling, Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis, Dave Bautista, Jared Leto and David Dastmalchian.

Dennis Villeneuve will direct, based on a screenplay by Ridley Scott, Hampton Fancher and Michael Green.

Ridley Scott will executive produce.

‘Blade Runner 2’ heads to cinemas on 6 October 2017.
