Blade Runner 2: Ryan Gosling Excited For Sci-fi Sequel

Ryan Gosling can’t wait to get started on ‘Blade Runner 2’.

During an interview with IGN, the 35-year-old ‘Blade Runner 2’ star revealed why he’s personally excited to see the sci-fi classic return to the big screen.

“As a fan of the film, the fact that Ridley and Harrison wanted to extend that story and keep going was exciting enough”, he said. “And then the idea of getting to be an actor involved in that in some way is really… I kinda can’t believe it.”

But not everybody is quite so enthusiastic…

During an interview with Gizmodo UK, original ‘Blade Runner’ star Rutger Hauer – who played the iconic replicant Roy Batty – sounded less than impressed with the thought of a sequel.

“I don’t understand why they’re calling it Blade Runner if they have a new project”, he said. “I’m curious what Ridley [Scott, now the sequel’s producer] will do. The director is a very interesting director so… let’s put it this way – I hope it’s better!”

‘Blade Runner 2’ is helmed by ‘Sicario’ director Dennis Villeneuve. Harrison Ford is said to be returning as Rick Deckard, with Ryan Gosling, Dave Bautista, Robin Wright, Ana de Armas and Carla Juri joining him.

Although little is known about the project, it’s said to revolve around the search for Harrison Ford’s iconic Blade Runner… and will see Ridley Scott returning as writer and producer.

‘Blade Runner 2’ heads to cinemas on 6 October 2017.
