"Black Widow" debunks streaming rumours

Don't worry Scarlett Johansson fans, "Black Widow" will still be screened in cinemas.

30 Mar – The COVID-19 pandemic has put the film industry's future in limbo, with many now wondering if their favourite upcoming movies will ever make it to the big screen.

The possibility of these movies going straight to digital platforms instead of premiering in cinemas is high, considering that almost all cinemas are temporarily shut down and most movie-goers could only stream movies at home now.

"Black Widow" is the latest movie to be rumoured going straight to digital, specifically on streaming platform Disney+.

However, the latest report from Comic Book Movie has debunked the rumour, which started circling online over the weekend after "Beyond the Trailer" host Grace Randolph tweeted about it.

Though if cinemas still don't re-open before the end of the year, which is unlikely but possible, Disney and Marvel could decide to just release the Scarlett Johansson-starrer on digital platforms rather than push it to next year.

At the moment, "Black Widow" will still be releasing in cinemas but no new date has been set for it after it was pulled from its May 2020 release schedule a couple of weeks back.
