Get a bird’s eye view of some of Singapore’s coolest places

Have you ever wondered what Garden’s By the Bay or Marina Bay Sands looks like to a bird flying high overhead? Well, now you can satisfy your curiosity with some amazing images taken from space.

The Airbus Pléiades Neo 3 satellite launched in April 2021, has recently sent the first-ever images of Singapore taken from space. The super high-resolution images show an amazing amount of detail despite being taken from such a high altitude. According to reports, the satellite provides “30cm resolution combined with the most accurate geolocation [for a] significant level of information required for precise large-scale mapping up to 1:2000 scale”.

Analysts will be able to access extremely high levels of detail since the new images can define small objects like cars and road markings, and the information will also improve geolocation accuracy, and assist with improving machine learning capabilities.

But for most of us, these images are just another way to admire and discover more about our amazing city.
