Billy Porter will make his first foray into fashion design "eventually".
The Pose actor has become famous for his unique and extravagant style and for rewriting the rulebook on what men can wear on the red carpet.
In a new interview with InStyle, the 49-year-old shared that he is planning to channel his sense of luxury and individual style into a collection at some point in the future.
“I will, eventually. I’m not at that place yet, but I’m looking forward to it. I’m working it out," he said. "It could be shoes, it could be hats, it could be glasses, it could be a full line. I don’t know! We’ll see.”
Though he didn't divulge much about a potential collection, Porter, who considers Rick Owens to be one of his favourite designers, will likely create pieces that aim to disrupt convention.
“Rules that are made by whom? And why? And based on what? Why do we continue to follow this without question? It’s stupid," the star asked, adding that he can’t wait for the time when he doesn’t make headlines for wearing a dress on the red carpet.
And when questioned over how he gets the confidence to wear such headline-grabbing ensembles at events, the actor replied, “That’s a personal journey. I’m going to be 50 this year. There’s an evolution in understanding who you are and clocking down on that and doing that unconditionally. That comes with age. That comes with experience. That comes with giving zero f**ks.”
