Billie Eilish Thinks Michael B. Jordan Should Be the Next Bond

From Esquire

April's No Time to Die marks Daniel Craig's fifth and final performance as James Bond, which means that there are some pretty big shoes that are about to need filling. Billie Eilish, who sings the movie's UK chart-topping theme song, made her pick clear: She'd like to see Michael B. Jordan in the role.

“Honestly, Michael B. Jordan would kill that shit,” Eilish said during a radio interview earlier this week. “I think he’d kill it.”

The Black Panther star is pretty great in roles that require him to be both charming and menacing, so he would probably would kill it. But some people were pissed that Craig had the audacity to be a blond Bond—so imagine the backlash that would greet a black American 077. Idris Elba was subjected to racism just for being a rumored contender for the role.

"You just get disheartened when you get people from a generational point of view going, 'It can’t be,'" Elba told Vanity Fair last year. "And it really turns out to be the color of my skin. And then if I get it and it didn’t work, or it did work, would it be because of the color of my skin?"

But Bond producer Barbara Broccoli has sad that Bond can be "any color"—though she still ruled out casting a woman in the role. And we nearly had an American Bond once before, as Burt Reynolds once passed on the part. So who knows? Maybe we really could see Jordan suiting up for 007 some day.
