We got some sad news the other day when we heard that celebrity trainer Bob Harper had a heart attack while in New York. While he’s currently on the mend, the attack was pretty serious — in fact, Harper was unconscious for two days after it happened.

Fans know Harper best for The Biggest Loser, a show that pretty much changed reality television. While the show itself has faced a lot of controversy throughout the years, Harper was always a kind and loving presence.

Whether you loved or hated the show, those who watched generally felt happiness when Harper was on screen. (Plus, he seemed to always get some pretty incredible results!)

Harper’s attack happened two weeks ago, but he just went public about it yesterday.

” I am feeling better,” Harper wrote on Instagram. “Just taking it easy. KARL has been a great nurse. I want to thank everyone for the outpouring of messages and support. It feels good to be cared about. I’ve been home for 8 days now. Again, THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I’m lucky to have such good friends and family to take care of me right now. ❤”

(Karl, by the way, is his adorable rescue dog featured in the photo. We’re so glad he’s able to help Harper recover!)

Harper also seems to have a sense of humor about the whole thing. Based on his recovery, he’ll be a bit wired up — a move he says makes him feel like a robot from Westworld.

Harper initially reported his attack to TMZ. He noted that it happened while at the gym, but luckily a doctor was present who helped perform CPR on him. Harper noted that he’s blaming genetics, as his mother, unfortunately, passed away from a heart attack earlier in life.

We wish Bob Harper a speedy recovery!
