BIGBANG's T.O.P found unconscious from overdose, moved to ICU: reports

BIGBANG’s T.O.P has reportedly been hospitalised in the intensive care unit (ICU) after he overdosed on drugs, according to media reports.

Yonhap News Agency reported on Tuesday (6 June), citing the South Korean boy group’s record company, YG Entertainment, saying that the singer and actor had overdosed on tranquilisers.

T.O.P, whose real name is Choi Seung-hyun, was admitted to a hospital in Seoul after he was found unconscious.

The news came after the 29-year-old singer, rapper and actor was officially expelled from the military, just months after enlisting in February.

The South Korean military announced on Monday (5 June) that T.O.P would be expelled from the army after being formally charged for using marijuana in October 2016.

T.O.P made his debut with BIGBANG in August 2006 and the group has since amassed millions of fans worldwide. He has also acted in several South Korean movies such as Tazza: The Hidden Card and television dramas such as IRIS.

BIGBANG performed their last overseas concert together in Hong Kong in January, before T.O.P’s army enlistment.
