On Tuesday (26 February), the Seoul Police Department had shared an official statement that they were opening an investigation into BIGBANG’s Seungri after some claims arose that the singer was suggested to have discussed offering escort services to investors. The official statement from the police read: “We have launched an investigation into the escort service claims that have been reported on by the media. The police will look into the matter closely, and will be drafting a list of individuals named in the related text messages. Seungri is now a person of interest in the investigation.”

Text messages between Seungri, Yoo, the CEO of Yuri Holdings and an employee were leaked. According to source Soompi, Seungri was suggested to have been giving orders to plan a meeting at a Gangnam club.

Source Naver TV reported that Seungri had cooperated with the police, and was interviewed for up to eight hours. He had also undergone the first round of drug tests, the results of which came out negative today. The second test using a hair follicle was sent to the National Institute of Scientific Investigation, whose results will be known in one or two week’s time, according to Seungri’s legal representative.

YG Entertainment has since released a statement to deny all allegations and will undertake legal action pertaining to the issue.
