Major changes are coming to the popular Korean variety show, “Running Man”, with a new season starting in January 2017, nearly seven years after the first episode aired.

Following “Running Man” regular Gary’s departure from the show in October, two other regulars – Kim Jong Kook and Song Ji Hyo, are also leaving the long-running programme.

Veteran TV host and former wrestler, Kang Ho Dong, will be joining the show. Kang will start filming in mid-January, though no specific date has been announced yet.

According to Sports Chosun, the production team behind “Running Man” is still considering adding new members, as well as a possible change in the show’s format.

Kim Jong Kook and Song Ji Hyo, two original members of the show, have been regulars since 2010. The filming dates for their final episodes have not been announced.

The remaining members of “Running Man” are Yoo Jae Suk, Ji Suk Jin, Haha and Lee Kwang Soo.
