27 Nov – What started out as a warehouse sale in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, back in 2009 has now grown into a landmark event nationwide, with Big Bad Wolf Book Sale all set to celebrate its 10th anniversary this December!
This year it will be decked in a grand carnival theme in celebration of its 10th year in business and will also feature an extended list of titles, which include children books, fiction and non-fiction categories.
Here's when and where the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale KL will be held:
Dates: 6 December 2019 (Friday) – 16 December 2019 (Monday)
Time: Open 24 hours!
Venue: Mines International Exhibition and Convention Centre (MIECC), Selangor
Furthermore, admission to the 11-day sale is free!
"This year, we celebrate our 10th anniversary of the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale, which has succeeded in boosting its mission to make books affordable and accessible to everyone," said Jacqueline Ng, Co- Founder of Big Bad Wolf Books, in a press statement.
"We are known as the World's Biggest Book Sale and our dream to change the world one book at a time has resulted in the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale traveling to 32 cities in 10 countries including the rest of Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar, Korea, Taiwan, the Philippines, Pakistan, United Arab Emirates and Sri Lanka."
Andrew Yap, fellow Co-Founder of Big Bad Wolf Books, also stated "As advocates of literacy, we ensure that there is something for everyone. We want to encourage a new generation of readers, especially among the younger ones."
It's no surprise then that a big highlight of this year's Sale is the exclusive and unique range of children's book title better known as the Magical Book.
Suitable for children from the age of 1 to 5 years, Magical Book comes in the form of a preschool learning series and bedtime stories that embrace technology and incorporates it with reading to create an Augmented Reality (AR) experience like no other for children as they learn to sing, learn and read.
As the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale also believes in giving back to the society (hence the founding of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm, Red Readerhood) and that that everyone regardless of status has the right to acquire knowledge through reading, the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale KL 2019 is collaborating with a local non-profit organisation and visitors are encouraged to purchase as well as donate the books at the Red Readerhood corner during the Sale.
Aside from that, to claim exclusive benefits at the Sale, visitors can sign up to be a Wolf Pack member at https://bigbadwolfbooks.com/my/signup/
