Proving that she’s the ultimate Queen, Beyoncé won big time at the VMAs last night. To be more specific, she took home eight awards — meaning she has a history-making 25 total!

But perhaps what’s even more important was her bold red carpet statement concerning the Black Lives Matter movement.

Accompanied by her daughter Blue Ivy, Bey posed with Sybrina Fulton, Gwen Carr, Lesley McSpadden, and Wanda Johnson; the mothers of unarmed African-American men who were fatally shot by the police or “neighborhood watch” in recent years. Their names still pierce our hearts: Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, Michael Brown and Oscar Grant.

With this simple act that needed no explanation, Beyoncé gave global exposure to the movement. She stood proudly with these women, reinforcing the fact that she’s an advocate for positive change (and a fantastic role model).

And her actual performance reflected her unwavering support for women — because she leaves no stone untouched.

In case you needed yet another reason to love Queen Bey, it’s safe to assume you found one here.

We’re so happy to see that Beyoncé used her spotlight to shine light on such an important issue and attempted to make the evening about something larger than herself. And that’s what really makes her true royalty.
