‘Beverly Hills 90210’ Alums Luke Perry, Jennie Garth Pay Tribute to Shannen Doherty

Jennie Garth and Luke Perry sent out messages of support and love to “Beverly Hills, 90210” alum, Shannen Doherty when the original cast reunited at REWindCon in Bloomingdale, Illinois, on Saturday.

“None of us are up here today without Shannen,” Perry said of Doherty, who is undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments to battle breast cancer. “She’s been through a lot. She’s not doing well right now but sometimes her contributions are minimized. She’s been thrown under the bus. I’ve been accused of driving it. But she’s a very big part of the success of this show. She taught me a lot. I’m glad she was my scene partner. She was great at what she did in the character with me.”

Among the other “90210” stars that attended were Garth, Tori Spelling, Jason Priestly, Gabrielle Carteris, Christine Elise and Vincent Young.

Garth, who played Brenda’s frenemy Kelly Taylor on the cult hit, posted a sentimental message on Instagram that day:

Doherty was diagnosed with breast cancer in February 2015. Her battle with the disease was made public in August that year when she sued her former business management firm after her health insurance lapsed, TMZ reported.

After revealing that she had a single mastectomy earlier this year, the 45-year-old actress shared emotional pictures of herself shaving her head in August this year.

“It’s easier to live with cancer if I know I’m helping at least one person,” said Doherty.
