Whether you love it or loathe it, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner - but it’s looking very different this year.

While we remain in lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic, we’ll be swapping restaurant reservations for home cooking and our best clothes for the joggers that we’ve been in for the past 10 or so months (we’ll buy ourselves plenty of flowers and chocolates, though).

If you fancy taking a break from thinking about what to cook, supermarkets have released details of their meal deal options for the year’s “most romantic day”.

So whether you’re celebrating with your significant other, your flatmates or your family, here are the meal deals to indulge in this Valentine's Day.

If you’re looking for a fancy meal deal, you can’t go past M&S. This year, love birds will delight in the ‘Love Linguine’ with pasta strands measuring 50cm long to encourage ‘Lady and the Tramp’ moments. There’s an entirely vegan menu on offer too - including vegan mushroom pate and heart-shaped vegan churros with chocolate dipping sauce.

The viral Love Sausage also makes a return this year - but in the form of a breakfast box instead. As well as its dinner meal deal, you can also order M&S’s £30 Valentine’s Breakfast in Bed hamper complete with the aforementioned sausage, heart-shaped crumpets, coffee, chocolate, cherry tomatoes and bellinis.

You’ll need to have similar tastes to your dining partner, however, as each course feeds two. For starters, choose from an antipasti platter, smoked salmon tartlets or camembert sharing bread. Mains on offer include Scottish salmon en croute, rump steaks and vegan wellingtons, while heart-shaped vegan brownies, millionaire tarts and Belgian white chocolate and raspberry pots are available for dinner.
