Today marks World Sleep Day, an annual event encourages people to change their sleep routine to improve their overall health as Brits lose, on average, 200,000 working days a year because of exhaustion.

According to Bupa, the average British adult gets just a touch over six hours of sleep every night, a figure that is disproportionately less than the recommended eight hours.

There are a whole host of products, from pillows to eye masks, sleep sprays and lamps, which claim to help you snooze more soundly.

Some may recommend supplements such as magnesium or CBD oils, others prefer essential oils to help them doze off.

While most aren’t scientifically-proven to work, a number include natural oils and fragrances that are known to help promote relaxation and, in turn, sleep.
