Love it or hate it, exercising in some way is important for our overall health and wellbeing.

Whether it’s walking the dog or signing up to some of the more intense full-body workouts at your gym, finding the best form of exercise for you is key to keeping active.

However, joining a gym doesn’t work for everyone and even if it does, the earliest you'll be able to use one again is 12 April.

So, if you find yourself too busy, unable or self-conscious to get out of the house to exercise then a home workout is your best option.

But don’t worry, a home workout doesn’t have to mean a drab pilates DVD like it might have done several years ago. Now there are all sorts of ways to get your heart racing and your muscles working from the sanctuary of your own living room.

From versatile weights to fold-away treadmills and all sorts of fancy gadgets in between, we’ve found the best at-home exercise equipment to help you make the most of your workout.

Whether you’re new to exercise or looking to keep up a longtime fitness regime, there’s something for everyone.

And don’t worry, if you’re not sure what to actually do with it once you’ve bought it, there are a plethora of brilliant workout videos on YouTube and all sorts of at-home apps you can download to give you some structure.

For example, fitness experts Kayla Itsines and Jassamyn Stanley often share their routines for free (or for less than a gym membership, at least.)

You could be done, showered and back in front of Netflix all in the space of 30-minutes. Ideal, right?

“It just looks like a rope?” we hear you cry. Actually, though, this on-trend piece of fitness equipment is the perfect exercise buddy whether you’re beginner, intermediate or pro. Google ‘TRX workouts’ and you’ll never have to do the same circuit twice.
