Ben Whishaw believes he might return as Q for "Bond 25"

Danny Boyle and Daniel Craig are already confirmed to direct and star, respectively

Ben Whishaw's Q can always be trusted to equip James Bond with the sleekest
and most cutting edge of spy gadgets.

21 May – With James Bond returning for his 25th outing in the next 007 movie, it can only be assumed that Q will be back alongside the British Secret Service agent too.

Ben Whishaw, who's held the post since 2012's "Skyfall, is expected to play Q again in "Bond 25".

"I believe I'm contracted to be in it. That's as much as I know," said the actor, as quoted by The Hollywood Reporter.

He said that director Danny Boyle has yet to reach out to him, though production is expected to begin by the end of the year, so there's still time for the actor to be contacted to reprise his role.

Whishaw was last seen as Q in 2015's "Spectre".

So far the only confirmed cast for the upcoming James Bond movie, which is yet to be titled but is colloquially referred to as "Bond 25", will see Daniel Craig playing the titular spy once again, despite how vocal he's been in the past of not returning to the franchise after "Spectre".

As for Whishaw, he was last seen – or heard, more like – voicing Paddington Bear in "Paddington 2" and will be appearing on the big screen this year in the Emily Blunt-led "Mary Poppins Returns".
