Orlando may be the Theme Park Capital of the World, but you may want to consider Naples, Florida, for your next family vacation. On Nov. 14, indoor water park resort brand Great Wolf Lodge opened its first location in the Sunshine State: Great Wolf Lodge South Florida.

Great Wolf Lodges are known for their family-friendly water park facilities, which are among the best in the country — and Great Wolf Lodge South Florida is certainly no exception. This opening marks the brand's 22nd outpost in the U.S.

This "next generation" resort has 500 rooms, several dining concepts ranging from kid-friendly pizza and burgers to a fireside, an outdoor restaurant, a 92,000-square-foot water park, and a 61,000-square-foot adventure park outfitted with activities like rope courses, miniature golf, and virtual reality games.

The water park will be warmed to a balmy 84 degrees year-round and features splash areas, raft rides, and 12 slides. Two of those slides, Rapid Racer and Breakaway Bay, will be unique to the Naples location.

"Great Wolf Lodge South Florida offers an immersive resort experience where families can enjoy multiple adventures together, whether that's at our fun-filled attractions, fantastic eateries, family entertainment offerings, or the resort's iconic indoor water park," John Murphy, the CEO of Great Wolf Resorts, said in a press release provided to Travel + Leisure.

For a fun bedtime activity, check out the new immersive experience in the resort's lobby. Every evening, families can watch the lobby transform via 3D projection technology, and take part in "The Legend of Luna," a story about a young wolf finding her place in the world. Other fun activities, such as dance parties, yoga sessions, as well as arts and crafts, are also included in the nightly rate.

All accommodations offer plenty of sleeping space and a living area, even in the standard suite category, which accommodates up to six people. If you have a larger party, spring for one of the "deluxe," themed rooms, like the Deluxe Wolf Den Suite, which can sleep up to 12 guests and is decorated like a wolf's cave.

Rates at the Great Wolf Lodge South Florida start at $200 per night, but the resort often runs promotions and discounts when you book directly online.
