A movie about sibling disco phenomenon the Bee Gees is in the offing from the producer of Oscar-winning Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody.

Graham King will bring the story to the screen, according to Deadline, with Paramount Pictures having secured rights to use the band's music.

As yet, there are no details on casting or a director for the movie, but it would follow the blazing success of Bohemian Rhapsody, the most successful music biopic of all time.

Rami Malek played Freddie Mercury in the movie, scoring himself the Oscar for Best Actor and a box office haul of over $900 million.

The story of the Bee Gees would be equally dramatic, following the three brothers Barry, Maurice and Robin from early success in Australia, to working with Beatles manager Brian Epstein in the UK.

They would go on to sell more than 220 million records after finding fame in the US, and soundtracking the iconic Saturday Night Fever.

However, there would be bumps in the road, with in-fighting and issues with alcohol and substance abuse.

Maurice Gibb died in 2003, followed by his twin Robin Gibb in 2012.

Surviving brother Barry was knighted last year.
