Beauty And The Beast: Live-Action Lumiere And Cogsworth Revealed

At last, we have our first proper look at two key characters from Disney’s live action remake of ‘Beauty and the Beast.’

Readers may recall that the initial trailer for the film released earlier this year was a teaser in the truest sense of the word, showing us only brief glimpses around the Beast’s enchanted mansion, a few lines of dialogue, and a partial reveal of Emma Watson’s face as Belle, behind the pivotal rose.

However, some new, more revealing footage from director Bill Condon’s film is included in the extras on the latest US digital release of the Oscar-winning 1991 animated film – and one enterprising fan, @maconodom, has taken to Twitter to share two images.

First, and most noteworthy, is the reveal of how Cogsworth and Lumiere – played by Ian McKellen and Ewan McGregor (whose voices can be heard in the trailer) – will look in their new CG forms:

Secondly, we have what appears to be a re-enactment of the famed ‘Gaston’ inn scene – and we would assume the big-looking fellow in red with his back to the camera is Luke Evans as Gaston himself, possibly with Josh Gad as Le Fou in front of him.

‘Beauty and the Beast’ will also feature Emma Thompson as Mrs Potts, Kevin Kline as Belle’s father, and Dan Stevens as the Beast.

We can surely expect further reveals before the film arrives in cinemas on 17 March 2017.
