Batman V Superman Comic Con Trailer Appears Online

It’s official – the latest ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’ trailer has appeared online after its debut at San Diego Comic Con. And it’s everything we hoped it would be.

That’s right folks – Ben Affleck’s Batman and Henry Cavill’s Superman finally go head-to-head in this incredible new trailer, pitting two of the world’s finest superheroes against each other. Packed full of action, adventure and plenty of intrigue, it’s everything we could have wanted in a Comic Con exclusive.

But what did we find out from this awesome new trailer?

Well, first things first… it looks as though Batman and Superman are going to battle it out in rather spectacular fashion.

What you’re seeing here is Batman facing up to his super-powered foe, just moments after the Man of Steel tore the roof right off the Batmobile. An impressive display of power, but it begs the question – can Superman really use his powers to kill Batman if he needs to? Or will restraint be his undoing?

For now, we’ll have to wait to find out… but thankfully, there’s plenty of other new titbits for us to sink our teeth into.

Bruce Wayne’s motives revealed

It looks as though the destruction of Metropolis in ‘Man of Steel’ is going to play a very important part in ‘Batman V Superman’. After all, it seems to have hit Bruce Wayne rather close to home.

image

That’s right – Bruce Wayne was there during Superman and Zod’s fight throughout Metropolis… and saw his very own building destroyed in the process as he raced through the rubble towards the destruction.

“He has the power to wipe out the entire human race,” he says, “and we have to destroy him.”

It looks as though Batman is leaning dangerously close to Lex Luthor’s xenophobic point of view. And there’s only one man who might be able to convince him otherwise…

Jeremy Irons appears as Alfred

Appearing as Bruce Wayne’s voice of reason, we finally get our first look at Jeremy Irons as his trusty manservant, Alfred. Much like the ‘Dark Knight’ movies, it’s Alfred who seems to keep Batman on the straight and narrow.

But will he listen to him this time?

image

“The fever… the rage… that turns good men cruel,” he says. “You’re going to go to war. He is not our enemy.”

Obviously, Alfred isn’t quite so blinded by the outpouring of hatred towards Superman. But will Batman take note before it’s too late? Not if Lex Luthor has anything to do with it…

Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor Unveiled

Although we’ve seen Lex Luthor appear in a number of ‘Batman V Superman’ stills, this is the first time we’ve seen him in action… and it looks as though the silver-tongued Superman villain has managed to get under the skin of the Senate. As well as taking on the Man of Steel himself.

image

“Do you know the oldest lie in America, Senator?” he asks. “Devils don’t come from Hell beneath us… they come from the sky.”

Clearly, Luthor is manipulating the backlash against Superman… and may even have started it all himself. But to what ends? The millionaire villain is often noted for his hatred of aliens, and this seems to be his motives on the big screen.

But with Bruce Wayne seemingly on his side, will anyone challenge him?

Gal Gadot kicks ass as Wonder Woman

It’s the first time we’ve seen her in action, but Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman is every bit as awesome as we hoped. Donning that rather impressive outfit, Wonder Woman has suited up for the latest trailer… and launches into battle.

image

Unfortunately, we don’t get to see who’s taking the brunt of her super-powered wrath. But one thing’s for certain – the Gal Gadot haters have a lot to answer for. Let’s put it this way – she looks every bit as fearsome as you might imagine.

Let’s just hope she can help Batman and Superman see eye-to-eye.

Lex Luthor gets hold of some Kryptonite

Obviously, we all assumed that Kryptonite would come into play in ‘Batman V Superman’. After all, how else would the non-super-powered Batman go up against a hero who is often likened to a god?

And it looks as though Lex Luthor has a hand in getting hold of the legendary green stuff…

image

Clearly, Lex has some idea of the power of Kryptonite… and given his attitude against the Man of Steel, it’s definitely in his interest to help Bruce Wayne defeat him.

It’s said that Ben Affleck’s new armoured Batsuit will contain some of the fabled Kryptonite. But Zach Snyder explains that his new suit is more about defence.

“It’s not really enhancing his strength more than it is protecting him from Superman,” he said during the Comic Con Panel.

Let’s just hope he has something green and glowing up his sleeve.

General Zod returns… sort of

After his untimely death at the end of ‘Man of Steel’, you may have been convinced that would be the last we’d see of General Zod. But it looks as though Michael Shannon is back. Even if his role is a little… unconventional.

image

It looks as though General Zod’s corpse is going to play an important part in ‘Batman V Superman’ – presumably recovered by Lex Luthor, and used to acquire that Kryptonite in order to take down Superman.

Will the Senator so easily hand over the Zod’s body (as well as the green stuff) to Lex? It seems he already has her eating out of the palm of his hand.

The Joker’s back in town?

It’s no secret that Jared Leto will star as The Joker in the upcoming ‘Suicide Squad’ movie… but it looks as though he might get a special cameo in ‘Batman V Superman’. During a scene in the Batcave, we find Bruce Wayne confronted by a rather ominous message scrawled onto what looks like a former-Robin’s costume.

image

“Hahah,” it reads. “Joke’s on you, Batman”.

Clearly, this is a hint that The Joker is back in town… and he’s decided to pay Bruce Wayne a visit. But will we actually see this classic Batman villain in the movie? And will it end up being a flashback?

For now, we’ll have to wait and see. But with an epic battle against Superman, I get the feeling that poor Bats has his hands full already.
